Imagine these mountains wrapping around both sides. I had to jump out
over some scary openings to get to this spot, but it was worth it.
To the left: The single best view of the entire trip. I sat and stared at this a long time before moving on. One day, I hope to make it back here.

facts about 1973 Doug also happened to be the collegian who calmly sank two free throws to put the U.S. ahead by 1 (and apparent victory) in the 1972 Olympic Gold medal game. Of course, most of you know what happened next--the worst travesty in Olympic history as the Russians were given multiple chances by Communist-country referees to win the game which they did as time expired for the third time. |
