Big Daddy Don Garlits' 1974 Dragster

There was another "Big Daddy" in the 50s and 60s: BIG DADDY Don Garlits. The most famous drag racer of our time, the Auto Museum has his 1974 dragster housed here. This "rail" has a 505 CID engine that generates up to 2000 horsepower burning stuff that's barely on the Periodic Table of Elements. Drag racing is still a viable sport, but it will never be as big as it was in the late 60s--early 70s. And back then, this guy ruled the world.

To the left: I think this was called the "Wynns" dragster (they were the sponsor).
